The National Training Center for Facilities and Hospitality Management

The National Training Center for Facilities and Hospitality Management (FHM) is an independent, non-for-profit training Center that was established through an agreement between The Technical & Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC), the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH), and the Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco).

Founding Members

TVTC/CoE Roles

  • Provide a training center(s) to be used for training activities
  • Provide the FHM Academy with procedures, processes, and all other systems required to meet TVTC learning and training standards
  • Engage in the selection of the training provider and operation and maintenance contractors for the FHM Academy , along with the CoE
  • Execute the training provider’s contract and operation and maintenance contract, and assign the management and evaluation of the contact to the CoE
  • Coordinate with the HRDF to support the FHM Academy, as a non-profit institute, with financial subsides to the FHM Academy to cover training costs and trainees’ stipends
  • Issue required operational license(s) to the FHM Academy and any third parties engaged by the FHM Academy to assist in the stated objectives
  • Actively assist the FHM academy in obtaining any related or required governmental approvals or licenses
  • Recognize and accredit diplomas and certificates issued by the FHM Academy, and task national or international accreditation body to set specifications and standards for jobs, through which ensuring the application of the highest international standards in the areas of technical and vocational training and awarding certificates of graduates

SCTH envisions the growth of tourism sector corresponding to the role of Kingdom’s value and its influence in the international community, as well as, as an important tributary of the national economy

SCTH Roles

  • Participate in the promulgation and enforcement of laws and ruler that aim at creating an optimal professional environment and developing the national human resources in the tourism industry
  • Participate in the creation and development of uniform specifications and standards for occupational competencies and certification requirements for professionals in hospitality and tourism
  • Assist the FHM Academy in obtaining any related or required governmental approvals or license
  • Participate in the development of knowledge and experience transfers nationwide to support the FHM Academy’s set objective and goals
  • Increase the rate of Saudization for hospitality and tourism jobs by incentivizing educational and training programs
  • Promote the FHM Academy training programs in tourism industry between established and developing business
  • Enhance and reinforce societal awareness and acceptance of occupations in facilities management, hospitality, and tourism to align with FHM Academy’s set objectives and goals
  • Streamline the collective efforts, roles, and responsibilities in the industry to develop human resources in support the FHM Academy’s trainees

Saudi Aramco roles

  • Provide technical support and consultation services to the FHM Academy during its formation and transition phases, until FHM Academy is fully operational
  • Participate in the process of quality control and services evaluation of the FHM Academy’s training provider
